Andina Expedition

Departure at 09:00 am. We head towards the indigenous community of Colchani. Observation of the elaboration of iodized salt in its rustic form, entrance to the white deserts in its fullness, with typical landscapes of extraction such as piles of salt and eyes of salt. Continue visiting the first salt hotel now a local museum. Lunch in the middle of the salt desert, visiting the Incahuasi Island, a typical place with the presence of giant cacti in a habitat of volcanic rock. There we hike to the First of August Square where you will observe from the 360° panoramic view the immensity of the salt flat. On the shores of the saltflats we will observe the sunset accompanied by a coca cocktail and decorated with bouquets of flowers. We settle down in a special corner to watch the sunset in the salt flat, a true spectacle of nature. MEALS: LUNCH. (FULL SALT DESERT) - TOAST – DINNER. HOTEL: BOUTIQUE ANDINA.

Breakfast at the hotel. We leave at 9:00 am visiting first the train cemetery with wagons from the twentieth century, machines that will not reach their destination, wagons that no longer tell stories and skeletons of locomotives scattered in the midst of oblivion and indifference. Continue visiting authentic villages such as San Cristobal and its colonial church, Culpina K and Villa Alota,  from here we can enter the Valley of the Rocks and Anaconda Canyon, passing through the Turquiri or black lagoon located in the Carbonería ravine, populated by dark creatures with many endemic birds. Viewpoint of the volcano Ollagüe, a semi-active stratovolcano being part of the Andes mountain range with a height of 5868 meters above sea level. At thr same time from the outside, there are two main fumaroles with more than 100 meters high, where the escape of yellow and white gases product of sulfur and water is observed. Continue passing through the Cañapa lagoon and finally Hedionda lagoon. Accommodation at the Eco-Hotel Los Flamencos located at the shores of the lagoon. After the accommodation hike along the shores of the lagoon, in which you can appreciate the three varieties of flamingos just a few meters away. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight. Departure at 06: 00 am after breakfast: We embark for our adventure in the Bolivian highlands passing through the Charcota and Honda lagoons, we enter the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve to arrive to the Siloli desert. We visit the stone tree, geomorphological formation of the rocky mushroom type, the viewpoint of Aguas Calientes one of the most emblematic places in Bolivia and the waters of the Laguna Colorada generally presenting sediments of the red color pigments of some types of algae and the dense population of the flagellate Dunaliella Salina. Then we will visit the Sol de mañana geysers, an intense area of volcanic activity of fumaroles in craters where you can see boiling mud intensely. We enter the Dalí desert as it were a surreal picture. Dali Desert is one of the most picturesque deserts in the world that stands out its spectacular landscape with a desolate arid plain. We visit the Laguna Blanca, so named due to its waters with high mineral content. We enter the viewpoint of the Laguna Verde with its color due to the high content of copper and arsenic. The area of the Andes Mountain range presents geological manifestations such as volcanic activity. As a result of the latter you will find hot springs in Polques with a temperature of 29 degrees, inviting you for a swimm. Its high mineral content relieves the symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism. Return to Uyuni visiting the valley of rocks and passing authentic villages arriving in Uyuni approximately at 18:30 pm. MEALS: BREAKFAST AND LUNCH. HOTEL: NONE
